The National Automobile Union (NAS) has sent an appeal to the Ministry of Industry and Trade with a proposal to change the status of the UAZ «Loaf» from a passenger car to a tractor.
According to the organization, this car should be classified as a tractor, since the «Loaf» does not meet safety and reliability requirements. In particular, it lacks a course stabilization system, airbags and other important elements.
This year, the vehicle type approval for the «Loaf» expires.
As a reminder, the car has been produced since the late 50s of the last century. Earlier, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant presented an updated version of the «Loaf».
The modernization of the car occurred after the vice-president of the National Automobile Union, Yan Khaitseer, stated that the «Loaf» has no place on public roads. According to him, this car does not meet modern safety requirements and cannot be used in modern conditions.
