Russian engineers have developed a line of "Hummingbird" drones capable of automatically switching to another signal frequency in the event of the enemy's use of electronic warfare. The devices will soon be tested on the front lines.
The head of the laboratory of unmanned aerial systems of the M. A. Kartsev Research Institute of Computing Complexes, Vitaly Dolgov, explained that the "Hummingbird" line includes two modifications.
One is designed for monitoring, adjustment, and reconnaissance, and the other is a strike FPV drone. One of the key advantages of the "Hummingbird" is that they can "jump" frequencies and bypass enemy electronic warfare systems.
Tests of the "Hummingbird" for resistance to electronic warfare have already been carried out and have been successfully completed. The drones are compact, inexpensive, and convenient. Thanks to the folding design, they fit into a small case, weighing about 3.5 kg.
Earlier www1.ru reported that "Kalashnikov" completed the shipment of combat small arms under the main contract ahead of schedule.
