The Russian Oreshnik medium-range ballistic hypersonic missile is practically invulnerable to enemy missile defense systems (ABM) due to its flight path and high speed. This was stated by retired Colonel, military expert Andrei Koshkin.
He noted that currently no military missile in the world has a speed of 2-3 km/s.
These characteristics make Oreshnik practically unattainable for interceptor missiles. This weapon cannot be damaged or shot down. Oreshnik follows a trajectory that is mathematically very difficult to calculate. And to damage or shoot down - for missiles of this level it is the same thing.
Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that the military had already used Oreshnik in a non-nuclear hypersonic configuration. Sharing the characteristics of the newest MRBM, he noted that the missiles attack targets at a speed of 2-3 km per second, about 10 Mach.
Earlier www1.ru reported that the main vulnerability of American ATACMS missiles to Russian air defense systems has been revealed.
