A ground-based station for unmanned vehicles has been developed at the Yu. A. Gagarin Saratov State Technical University (SSTU). This was reported by the university's press service.
The main function of the developed station is to quickly automatically replace and charge batteries, which ensures continuous operation of drones and reduces their downtime. In addition, the system has the ability to simultaneously contactless charge several batteries.
The device is small in size. It is equipped with a protective dome with a water-repellent coating.
The station is equipped with four slots for installing batteries, which ensures the availability of several pre-charged batteries. And the wireless charging system uses the principle of contactless energy transfer, thanks to which charging occurs without the need for precise mechanical connection.
