В Ростове cоздали новый способ измерения времени

The new concept will allow describing the properties of unique phenomena

The Don State Technical University (DSTU) has developed the concept of "local time." It allows describing the flow of time in various physical systems.

According to the new theory, time is an independent flow. It changes according to its own laws and moves along a trajectory that depends on them. This means that the flow can accelerate, slow down, and change depending on the conditions.

Any process that is subject to research over a certain period is, in fact, a combination of the process being studied directly and the accompanying time flow. At the same time, the concept of time for this process does not coincide with the astronomical one and depends solely on its course and the changes occurring in it.

Scientists sought to link the abstract concept of time with specific physical processes. To do this, they used a mathematical apparatus to determine the "local time" using simple geometric objects as an example. This approach made it possible to compare the mathematical description with a person's everyday experience in measuring time.

Specialists applied methods from various fields of mathematics — geometry of curves, Riemannian geometry, the theory of differential equations, the theory of probability and random processes. Experiments have shown that in a number of mathematical models, it is possible to introduce a strict quantitative concept of "local time" that reflects the order of events. This time is determined on the basis of an ordered set of measurements of various quantities taken at the same moment.

It is expected that the new concept will allow describing the properties of unique phenomena and predicting their development.
