Новейшие морские газотурбинные двигатели разработают для российских судов

Suitable for tankers and container ships

Scientists from the Advanced Engineering School (AES) SPbGMTU are conducting tests on the formation of a promising model range of marine gas turbine engines for the transport fleet. The development has found application in such vessels as gas carriers, tankers, container ships and ro-ro vessels for the transport of cars.

Russian enterprises currently produce engines with a maximum power of up to 7.5 MW, but for large-capacity vessels they need higher power power plants, which are not yet produced in the country.

One of the solutions may be the use of gas turbine engines on transport large-capacity vessels.

We have analyzed the state of the current fleet of marine vessels in the Russian Federation, studied the limitations of the construction sites of shipbuilding enterprises and seaports of the Russian Federation, and are engaged in forecasting and assessing the capacity of the market for vessels and marine gas turbine engines for civil use until 2035.
