AvtoVAZ has received official support from the state to resist competition from Chinese automakers. This was announced by Anton Alikhanov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
He noted that in the field of automotive transport, it is necessary to protect domestic manufacturers from competition with imported cars in the passenger car segment. This especially applies to the "B" and "B+" segments, where AvtoVAZ models are traditionally represented.
We will do this through regulatory and customs tariff measures. You all know that the recycling fee has been significantly indexed – another stage of increase will occur from January 1, and the government has already made a decision for the next six years.
Alikhanov is confident that such measures open up great prospects for the automotive industry. The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade recalled that AvtoVAZ plans to demonstrate the best results in the last 15 years. This year, the company expects to produce more than 520 thousand cars, and this is not the limit. Over the next six years, AvtoVAZ intends to increase annual production to 700 thousand cars and more.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ did not rule out an increase in the price of Lada cars in 2025. The interest rate, determined by the key rate, serves as the basis for increasing the cost of production. This is the first factor that will affect indexation. The second is the continued growth of the dollar against the ruble.
