Russia plans to ban cryptocurrency mining in the autumn-winter period until 2031. This will be done in the Irkutsk region, certain parts of Buryatia and the Trans-Baikal Territory. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak.
Restrictions are also recommended to be introduced in North Ossetia - Alania, Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, Dagestan, DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
Currently, the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, together with energy companies, will work on the issue to implement the ban. The department found it expedient to ban digital currency mining in the regions of the Russian Federation with subsidies for paying for electrical energy.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a list of Russian regions where mining will be banned from December 1 has been named.
