The Tupolev company is nearing completion of preparations for the Tu-214 flying laboratory's first flight after replacing all foreign parts. This was reported by the company's Managing Director, Konstantin Timofeev.
Held a meeting of the headquarters for the flying laboratory. Its flight will take place in the near future after the complete replacement of imported components.
The flying laboratory is an aircraft with tail number RA-64509, which first took to the skies on November 17, 2006.
In April 2007, it was sent to the airline "Transaero", where it was actively operated until October 2015. After that, the aircraft was in storage.
In June 2023, the Tu-214 made its first flight after the restoration of airworthiness. Timofeev emphasized that this is the first aircraft in decades to consist entirely of Russian components.
