The Russian modernized heavy nuclear cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" (Project 11442M "Orlan") will definitely leave the repair dock of the "Sevmash" enterprise before the end of 2024. This was announced by the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC).
The enterprise is carrying out repair and modernization of the heavy nuclear missile cruiser of Project 11442M. Work is carried out in strict accordance with the schedules agreed with the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
The corporation emphasized that the ship will go to factory sea trials in 2024.
The cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" has been under repair since 1999. The main result of the cruiser's modernization will be the strengthening of its strike power. It is expected that it will carry Onyx or Kalibr-NK cruise missiles, as well as Zircon hypersonic missiles.
