Двухсистемный электропоезд «Финист» серии ЭС105 отправился на испытания

The new train with domestic equipment will undergo tests until March 2025

The "Ural Locomotives" plant has sent the dual-system electric train "Finist" ES105 series, equipped with domestic traction equipment, for acceptance and certification tests. The tests will be conducted until the end of March 2025.

The electric train will undergo a full cycle of traction-energy and dynamic-strength tests at the experimental ring of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Railway Transport (VNIIZhT) in Moscow (Shcherbinka). Also, at the high-speed test site of VNIIZhT in Belorechensk (Krasnodar Territory), the technical requirements and safety standards regarding the impact of the train on the track will be checked. Special attention will be paid to checking the operation of the traction equipment during the transition from direct current to alternating current and vice versa. Sanitary and chemical tests of the train will be carried out at the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Hygiene of Transport (VNIIZhG), also located in Moscow.

Oleg Spai, General Director of the "Ural Locomotives" plant, noted that the company constantly analyzes the needs of customers and promptly responds to their requests. For example, in Bashkortostan, on one of the popular tourist routes in the foothills of the Ural Mountains, electric trains "Finist" of the direct current ES104 series are already in operation. On sections with alternating current, these trains run coupled with diesel locomotives. The appearance of the dual-system electric train ES105 will optimize the traffic schedule, improve passenger comfort and save resources on such routes, which are electrified with various types of current.

The electric train "Finist" ES105 series is designed for suburban traffic and is equipped with a domestic traction system and auxiliary equipment, which allows it to be used on railways with electrification by both direct and alternating current. This solution minimizes the train's transition time from one type of current to another and increases the number of routes. The five-car train configuration accommodates 386 passengers, of which four seats are designed for people with disabilities. The seats are equipped with USB connectors for charging gadgets, and the cars are equipped with microclimate and air disinfection systems, as well as lifts for people with limited mobility.

In the cabin of the ES105 electric train, the side and front displays were updated, and video screens were installed. The train is equipped with a passenger counting system, and the brightness and temperature of the lighting can be adjusted in the cabin. For outdoor enthusiasts, there are bicycle parking and places for transporting skis and snowboards.
