Находящийся с 1999 года в ремонте атомный ракетный крейсер «Адмирал Нахимов» не выйдет на испытания в море осенью

Will appear at sea no earlier than spring 2025

The heavy nuclear-powered missile cruiser "Admiral Nakhimov" (Project 1144.2M "Orlan") of the Northern Fleet, which is undergoing repairs at the "Sevmash" enterprise (Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Region), will not go to sea trials in the fall of 2024. This was reported by @izvestia, citing a source familiar with the situation.

The ship's first departure to sea was originally scheduled for November 15, but it was postponed indefinitely. The source did not name the reason, but suggested that the "Admiral Nakhimov" will not go to sea before the spring of 2025.

Military expert Dmitry Boltenkov explained that the cruiser is currently being, in essence, rebuilt from scratch.

"Sevmash" pulled out all the internals and started replacing them, leaving only the hull. "Admiral Nakhimov" is a large ship. Of course, a huge number of suppliers of weapons and combat systems were involved in this. But also, import substitution is now in full swing in Russia. Therefore, it is likely that they planned to purchase some auxiliary systems in the West, but now they need to create them themselves.

The "Admiral Nakhimov" has been under repair since 1999. The main result of the cruiser's modernization will be the strengthening of its strike power. It is expected that it will carry "Onyx" or "Kalibr-NK" cruise missiles, as well as "Zircon" hypersonic missiles.

Earlier www1.ru reported that the frigate "Admiral Golovko" with "Zircons" practiced combat operations in the English Channel.
