The Russian modernized heavy nuclear cruiser \"Admiral Nakhimov\" (Project 1144.2M \"Orlan\") will receive at least four Pantsir-M SAM systems with 24 target channels after the refit. The system can be equipped with both high-speed extended-range 57E6M SAMs with a range of 40 km and small-sized highly maneuverable 19Ya6 SAMs for intercepting enemy kamikaze UAVs.
The warship will also receive 10 vertical launch systems of the 3S14 UKSK firing complex, represented by cells for accommodating 3M22 Tsirkon hypersonic multi-purpose tactical missiles, 3M55 Onyx, 3M14T Kalibr-NK, as well as 3M54 3-Mach two-stage low-altitude anti-ship missiles.
Also, 91RT2 anti-submarine guided missiles with a range of up to 50 km can be used from the UKSK, target designation for which can be issued by Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopters, or its own shipborne internal active-passive sonar station.
Earlier, a military expert explained why the «Admiral Nakhimov» has not yet gone to sea after the refit. According to him, the ship is not yet ready.
