Roskomnadzor will conduct exercises on "switching off the international internet" in some regions of the Russian Federation in December this year. The Central Bank of the Russian Federation informed banks about this event of the department.
The checks do not affect access to the "Internet" network for Russian users. The purpose of the exercises is to confirm the readiness of the Russian "Internet" network infrastructure to ensure the availability of key foreign and Russian services in the event of a deliberate external impact.
It was also noted that the exercises will identify the effectiveness of the key infrastructure in the event of a deliberate external shutdown of the Russian segment of the "Internet" network.
Earlier www1.ru reported that Roskomnadzor will block more than 4.5 million SIM cards used by foreigners.
