Russians are planning to be required to verify their identity when paying for telephone communication services in cash. The new initiative was proposed by the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation. The draft law appeared on the portal of draft legal acts.
Payment for mobile communication services in cash will be possible in organizations authorized by the government only upon confirmation of the payer's identity with an identity document or through "Gosuslugi."
It is worth noting that the new changes are related to the restriction of the circulation of SIM cards. The measures are aimed at improving the security of subscribers and combating fraud.
