Despite the fact that such platforms are called "flamethrower systems", they are actually thermobaric multiple launch rocket systems.

The publication noted that the TOS-3 will surpass the TOS-1A "Solntsepek" and TOS-2 "Tosochka" in its capabilities. The "Dragon" will be able to launch incendiary projectiles at a distance of up to 24 km, that is, it will be able to destroy targets far beyond the line of sight. The new system is installed on the chassis of the main battle tank, which will provide the crew with more reliable protection.

Thermobaric ammunition is a destructive weapon capable of creating a powerful shock wave, followed by a cloud of fire. The temperature can reach 2500-3000 degrees Celsius.

In addition to the fact that it will surely kill anyone within the blast radius, the heat from the weapon can cause significant damage to structures and vehicles, igniting any fuels and lubricants, as well as detonating any ammunition. Many targets actually evaporate.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Western countries will not be able to catch up with Russia in the development of hypersonic technologies. This opinion was expressed by the president of the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute" Mikhail Kovalchuk.
