The Uralvagonzavod is developing the T-14 main battle tank with an unmanned turret based on the universal Armata tracked platform. Military expert Evgeny Damantsev explained the power of this combat vehicle.
He noted that the "Armata" is capable of hitting the enemy from a 125-mm 2A82-1M smoothbore gun using high-explosive fragmentation shells from closed firing positions. A modern ballistic computer provides decent parameters for the gun's fire performance, allowing to achieve combat accuracy of only 5 - 10 m in direction and 15 - 25 m in range.
At the same time, existing Western kinetic shells, including M829A4 and DM63, are not capable of overcoming the 1000-mm frontal equivalent of the "Armata".
Also, the ballistics and muzzle energy of the new gun, providing an initial velocity of 1975 - 2050 m/s at the muzzle, will allow the "Vacuum-1/2" and "Lead-2" shells to hit tanks of the "Leopard-2A5/6" type in frontal projection from a distance of 5000 - 4500 m and 3500 m, respectively.
Earlier www1.ru wrote that the Russian Navy will receive the first combat icebreaker "Ivan Papanin" with Kalibr and Uran missiles in the summer of 2025. The ship was built at the Admiralty Shipyards.
