U.S. and EU sanctions have forced the Chinese company TPV Technology to close its TV manufacturing plant in Shushary. Philips, Sony, and Sharp equipment was assembled at the production site. The reason is that the Russian market was not a priority for the company, and the sanction risks turned out to be high.
Production in the Leningrad Region was stopped at the end of October. Among the reasons, a source in the industry cited, in addition to sanctions risks, problems with the payment of Chinese components.
Experts believe that after the closure of the plant, the share of brands assembled at the enterprise will be taken over in the Russian market by Haier, Hisense, and TCL.
