Эксперимент «Пифия»: в Москве подключили мозг крысы к ИИ

The animal answers questions on physics, history, and neurophysiology

In the Russian biotech laboratory Neiry, in collaboration with scientists from Moscow State University (MSU), the world's first smart rat has been created. A neural interface with artificial intelligence was implanted in its brain.

The experiment was successful. A rat named Pythia learned to answer questions on history, neurophysiology, and physics using a keyboard.

Scientists verbally ask any question, and the AI prompts the rat with the correct answer using electrical brain stimulation. For the rat, the "AI prompt" feels like sensations in the body. It experiences certain sensations in a certain place when it needs to answer "yes," and in another when the answer is "no."

Pythia receives a reward for the correct answer. During the experiment, the rat gave correct answers to many scientific questions.

The "Pythia" experiment was conducted as part of a joint research project between Neiry and MSU — "AIntuition." The goal of this project is to develop invasive neural interfaces. In the future, the developers plan to connect the human brain with the knowledge of all humanity.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that a new AI consultant based on Russian technologies will be launched on "Gosuslugi" by the end of the year.
