Israeli military personnel discovered a cache of Russian 9M133 missiles for the Kornet ATGM and other weapons in Lebanon. The leadership of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is considering including these missiles in its arsenal, according to Bulgarian Military.
The Kornet ATGM, known in NATO under the code name AT-14 Spriggan, is a formidable anti-tank weapon, impressive for its armor penetration. Thanks to the laser guidance system, the operator captures and holds the target until the missile hits it.
The 9M133 missile is equipped with a powerful shaped-charge warhead capable of penetrating more than 1200 mm of armor. The Kornet ATGM is considered a universal tool in both offensive and defensive operations.
In addition, the 9M133 missile has a thermobaric variant designed to engage structures, fortifications, and lightly armored vehicles. It can be used in various combat scenarios, writes Bulgarian Military.
