RT-Invest, part of the Rostec State Corporation, has launched a new Flavia steam turbine at a waste-to-energy plant in the Voskresensk urban district of the Moscow region. The equipment was manufactured to order by the Ural Turbine Plant — Flavia received a prognostics system that analyzes more than 500 parameters, and a capacity of 70 MW.
The turbine was launched as part of commissioning works. During the tests, operation in the commissioning mode of such technological systems of the plant as gas supply, water treatment, feed path, oil system, steam supply and distribution system, air-cooled condenser unit, condensate path, closed loop cooling system, automatic process control system was ensured. During the work, the operation of the turbine control and protection system was also successfully tested. The vibration state of the turbogenerator corresponded to the normative parameters.
The waste-to-energy plant near the village of Svistyagino in the Voskresensk urban district, where Flavia will serve, is one of the four RT-Invest waste-to-energy plants that will appear in the Moscow region. The design capacity of the enterprise is 700 thousand tons per year. Waste for energy utilization will be received after mandatory sorting and selection of secondary material resources.
Previously, there were no such waste-to-energy plants in Russia. The launch of the first Russian enterprise in this area is scheduled for 2024.
