Топливо из шлама: в Томске создали новое горючее

Biofuel is 12% more efficient than analogues

Sludge biofuel has been created at Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU). The development is 12% more efficient than analogues. This was reported by the university's press service.

The composition of the biofuel includes coal sludge, rice husks, sewage sludge and sawdust.

We conducted a series of experiments burning our fuel at temperatures of 700–900 °C. The results showed that the relative efficiency indicators of our sample are 10–12% higher than those of similar fuels without additives.

Scientists have found that when the new fuel is burned, the emission of sulfur, nitrogen and carbon oxides is reduced by 1.5-2 times.

Earlier www1.ru reported that samples of environmentally friendly aviation fuel were created in Tomsk.
