Belarus starts producing its own trucks based on GAZelle: they are called MAZ Lira

The new minibus is produced at the Brestmash plant

Belarus has begun supplying MAZ-281120 Lira minibuses, which are assembled on the basis of the Nizhny Novgorod GAZelle. These minibuses are produced at the Brestmash plant in Brest, which offers a 22-seater minibus and an all-metal van, assembled from components of both Belarusian and Russian production.

In the coming days, the branches of JSC Brestoblautotrans will replenish their fleets with 10 new Lira minibuses. Deliveries are distributed among several motor parks: motor park No. 16 in Kobrin will receive 2 units, park No. 9 in Kamenets - 1 unit, and park No. 8 in Bereza - also 1 minibus.

MAZ-281120 Lira is a complete analogue of GAZelle NN, but with a different logo on the radiator grille. These minibuses are equipped with a G31A Euro-3 class engine, which is a licensed 2.5-liter turbodiesel with a capacity of 149.6 hp. The gearbox is a 5-speed manual from GAZ.
