AvtoVAZ plans to introduce unprecedented changes to its production process. In particular, the production of Lada Granta sedans will be moved to the line where Lada Niva cars were previously produced. The first copy of the updated model has already rolled off the assembly line, according to the insider publication Avtograd News.
A trial Lada Granta Sedan car has been assembled on the Niva line. With the start of mass production of Iskra cars, the Granta sedan will become a neighbor on the assembly line along with the Niva Travel and Niva Legend.
According to the source, only the Granta in the liftback and cross-wagon bodies will remain in the lineup. Production of the Granta Cross model will cease altogether after the launch of production of Iskra wagons.
The Lada Granta sedan is a B-class budget car with high ground clearance. It was created on the Kalina platform and replaced three models at once, which significantly reduced its cost.
Earlier, AvtoVAZ began painting the Lada Granta in a new color and raised the price of the car. We are talking about a deep blue metallic "Captain". The surcharge for it will be 15,000 rubles. In the future, this shade will appear in other Lada models as well.
