Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has made a proposal to Rosatom. It concerns the construction of a second nuclear power plant at the "Sinop" site. This was announced by the head of Rosatom State Corporation, Alexey Likhachev.

This is a proposal made to us by the President of Turkey, Mr. Erdoğan. He discussed this with Russian President Vladimir Putin. And we are now conducting consultations at the government level on the possible expansion of our presence in Turkey at the "Sinop" site, which is located on the Black Sea.

According to the head of the state corporation, all pilot projects were worked out during the construction of the Akkuyu NPP. They are planned to be unified and standardized for the construction of a new nuclear power plant.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that Rosatom started the final stage of assembling the turbine unit at the first unit of the Akkuyu NPP.
