The NTI Competence Center of Bauman Moscow State Technical University has developed polymers with a high glass transition temperature for the production of drones and aircraft. This was reported by the press service of the NTI Foundation.
The new material makes it possible to increase the resistance of aircraft to mechanical damage.
The glass transition temperature is the temperature at which a material transitions from a highly elastic state to a glassy state upon cooling. We have learned to predict the glass transition temperature and the elastic modulus of polymers.
He also emphasized that the higher the temperature of this process, the higher the polymer's resistance to high temperatures. The higher the elastic modulus, the greater the mechanical loads the material can withstand.
The resulting polymers can be used at temperatures above 200°C. They are planned to be used not only for the creation of UAVs, but also for aircraft body parts.
Earlier www1.ru reported that a workshop for the production of components for UAVs was launched in the Sverdlovsk region.
