The first anti-satellite complex of the US Armed Forces will achieve operational readiness and go on combat duty in 2025. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing the US Space Force.
The authors of the material suggested that the weapon would be intended to suppress Chinese and Russian satellites. It has overcome technical problems and will be at the disposal of the military by next year, two years later than originally planned.
Military expert Evgeny Damantsev suggested that the ground-based GBMD based on EKV kinetic interceptors, the shipborne and ground-based Aegis anti-missile system based on new generation SM-3 Block IIA/B anti-missiles with exoatmospheric kinetic interceptors Mk 142, and THAAD with kinetic interceptors will be used as this complex.
Russian anti-missile systems capable of intercepting satellites of the NATO orbital group are the A-235 Nudol system with 14A042 anti-missiles, capable of intercepting objects at altitudes from 50 km to 1000 km, the 30P6 Kontakt air-based interceptor, and the latest generation S-500 anti-missile defense system.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Russian army had reduced losses of Supercam reconnaissance drones to almost zero. UAV operators know in advance where the enemy's air defense and electronic warfare points are located.
