Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant (UAZ) has decided to replace 90% of the stamping equipment for the production of body panels for vans, minibuses, and trucks of the SGR family, known as "Bukhanka". According to insiders, this step is aimed at improving the quality of surfaces and panel joints, which should increase the overall reliability and appearance of the vehicles.
Interestingly, the new equipment is manufactured by the company's internal resources — the subsidiary "UAZ-Tekhinstrument", which may reduce dependence on external supplies and facilitate the implementation of technological tasks. In addition, insiders report that the life cycle of the UAZ "Bukhanka" on the assembly line has been extended for many years, which indicates further support for this legendary car in the market.
Previously, UAZ faced criticism regarding the quality of its cars. The company stated that the decline in quality was due to sanctions and restrictions in the supply of components. Responding to criticism, the automaker made significant improvements in the production and quality of cars.
