A new brand of trucks called Altai Trucks is entering the Russian market of грузовой техники, planning to cover almost all segments of trucks, from 3.5 to 50 tons. The official premiere of the brand is expected in December.
Experts said that Altai Trucks' approach is similar to that used by Russian passenger car manufacturers, as it is not about innovative solutions, but about "rebadged" Chinese trucks under the Wanshan brand, produced by Hubei Sanjiang Space Wanshan Special Vehicle. At the Comtrans International exhibition, it is planned to present an all-wheel drive 6x6 chassis, as well as trucks with a gross weight of 20 and 12 tons.
The assembly of these machines will be carried out at a plant in Veliky Novgorod, formerly known as the "261st Repair Plant for Fueling and Transportation Equipment".
