Мечта агронома: искусственный интеллект научат находить плодородные почвы

The Tula Region was chosen as the starting point for this unique project

Specialists from the Moscow Aviation Institute are creating the world's first repository of large volumes of information in the field of soil science. Scientists have begun work on creating software based on artificial intelligence that will be able to identify areas with the most fertile land.

The Kurkinsky district of the Tula region will become the starting point for the project. In 2024, MAI employees actively collected satellite images and additional data for the neural network, which will find fertile soils.

Thanks to automatic image analysis, it will be possible to determine the most "productive" zones in the fields. This will allow farmers to use fertilizers effectively. For example, apply them to areas with nutrient deficiencies.

Earlier in Tomsk, the world's first fully unmanned robot tractor was developed. It has a wide range of functions for use in agricultural activities. The design includes special sensors that monitor how the equipment works and in what condition it is in. The unmanned tractor also has a device that analyzes the composition of the soil.
