The frigate “Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov” of the Northern Fleet, as part of planned combat training activities, carried out a missile firing with the main missile system at a coastal target.
The practical firing was carried out from the Barents Sea with a “Caliber” cruise missile at a target position located at a distance of more than 1300 km at the “Chizha” training ground in the Arkhangelsk region.
The area for the missile firing was closed in advance for aviation flights and civil navigation. The closure of the area was ensured by ships of the Kola Flotilla of mixed forces and vessels of the hydrographic service of the Northern Fleet.
Frigates of Project 22350 are multifunctional warships capable of effectively combating surface, air and underwater enemies, as well as striking ground and coastal targets at a distance of over 1.5 thousand km.
