The newest AvtoVAZ car – LADA Aura – belongs to the business class not only because of the materials used and the useful space. The chief engineer of the auto giant Dmitry Shalaev explained what work the creators of the car for officials carried out.
We used a different material in terms of density, with better characteristics. We set ourselves the task of improving in terms of sound insulation and squeezed out the maximum that is possible at this stage.
The designers strived to make the rear sofa as comfortable as possible so that even tall passengers could sit comfortably. For this, experiments were carried out with the thickness of the foam and its density. It was specially made so that the back would sink slightly when landing. But the engineers did not stop there. They slightly tilted the back of the rear sofa to make sitting even more comfortable.
The LADA Aura also has a new ceiling. Not like the LADA Vesta model. After all, Aura — is actually an extended LADA Vesta. The ceiling in the car for officials is as close as possible to the roof panel. Thanks to this, there is a little more space at the top.
The car also has some shortcomings in the cabin. So, there are no air ducts in the back. The problem is that the central tunnel is not wide enough. Shalaev emphasizes that the factory is thinking about how to solve the problem, but this will require radical alterations.
Let us remind you that sales of the new LADA Aura will start in November. The most budget-friendly version will be available at a price of 2.6 million rubles. The amount the top version will cost is unknown, but it will be more expensive than 3 million rubles.
