Representatives of AvtoVAZ explained why the rear door of the Lada Aura was increased, while the rest of the body remained the same. Chief Engineer Dmitry Shalaev answered a question about the dimensions of the car.
Lengthening both doors is not just unprofitable.
He emphasized that it is necessary to realize that when the front door is moved, the "B" pillar (middle pillar) shifts. This leads to a change in the threshold, which is an element of the power structure of the body. According to him, this can be compared to creating a new car with a new safety concept. Even airbags should be different. These are significant changes.
These are too global reworks. That's why they went this way.
Sales of the new Lada Aura model will start in November 2024. Cars in two trim levels will arrive in showrooms. The cost of the most budget-friendly of them is from 2.6 million rubles.
Lada Aura promises to be serviced at the highest level. Corporate clients will be allocated a personal manager in the showroom and a premium technical support line.
