The agency reminds about the deadlines for replacing tires with winter ones

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation reminds that, in accordance with the law, winter tires must be installed on cars before the onset of the calendar winter, that is, before December 1. According to the technical regulations of the Customs Union "On the safety of wheeled vehicles", the operation of summer tires is prohibited from December to February.

Experts recommend changing tires when the average daily air temperature reaches +5…+7°C and when there are constant frosts. For the Urals, this usually happens in October, while in the central part of Russia - closer to November.

According to the law, motorists are required to use winter tires, which can be studded or non-studded, but must have the marking "M+S", "M&S" or "M S".

It is important to change tires to winter ones, because under the influence of low temperatures, summer tires become too hard and lose their elasticity, which worsens grip on the road and increases braking distance.

Thus, it is necessary to change tires in a timely manner - depending on weather conditions. With the onset of December 1, changing tires becomes mandatory.
