The Institute of Innovative Development (IID) of the Samara State Medical University (SamSMU) will create the first domestic robotic operating room based on the laboratory of robotic technologies in neurosurgery. This was reported by the university's press service.
The operating room will be equipped with the AUTOPLAN surgical navigation system (developed by SamSMU). It tracks the movement of instruments in relation to the patient's anatomical structures and displays them on the monitor screen in real time.
This technology has been used in 1,700 operations and is used in more than 20 neurosurgical departments throughout Russia.
The first robotic laboratory will appear in Russia in 2026.
