The heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Russia and Burkina Faso, Sergey Lavrov and Karamoko Jean-Marie Traoré, signed a joint statement on not being the first to deploy weapons in space. The meeting of diplomats took place on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly events in New York.
After that, the heads of the foreign ministries of both countries held negotiations.
Following the meeting, the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry notes that the ministers confirmed their commitment to comprehensively intensify mutually beneficial cooperation between the countries in various fields, with an emphasis on expanding the humanitarian and trade and economic components.
In addition, they discussed topical issues of bilateral relations, international and regional agenda.
