The development was carried out by Uaz of America

In the 90s, a company from the American state of Virginia decided to develop a UAZ project with Western components. A 4.3-liter engine was installed on the UAZ-3151 model. We tell you the details.

The American V6 engine, which the engineers paid attention to, is familiar to Russians from the Chevrolet Blazer model. The power of this engine was 184 horsepower. The engine was changed – without changing the transmission you can't do without. The choice fell on a five-speed BorgWarner gearbox. The brakes of the modernized UAZ were made disc brakes.

The car was supposed to be positioned as a fashionable SUV: with a soft roof made of modern fabric, beautiful rims and off-road tires. However, the project did not go ahead and quickly closed.

Let us remind you that the UAZ-3151 model was produced from 1985 to 2011. It was a modernized version of the UAZ-469, the assembly of which began in 1972.
