NPP "Almaz", part of the holding "Roselectronica" of Rostec, tested a traveling wave tube. This device plays the role of a super-high frequency power amplifier and is needed to transmit information to the satellite communication system. It is planned to be used in space.
The test took place in conditions close to space flight. The tests were needed to ensure that the device works reliably.
Earlier, Rostec showed how parts for the space industry are manufactured using selective laser melting technology. The laser acts on a special powder that covers the working surface. All this takes place in an inert gas environment.
