The Kalashnikov arms concern has presented a new GP-46 under-barrel grenade launcher. The new product is distinguished by its small size and relatively high rate of fire.
The GP-46 is designed to engage enemy personnel located on the ground, in trenches, and in unarmored vehicles. It can be used attached to a Kalashnikov assault rifle, or to a module – a special detachable stock that allows it to be used as a separate weapon.
Allows for direct or indirect fire. The grenade launcher, when installed on an AK, does not interfere with firing from the assault rifle. Reloading occurs when the GP-46 barrel is rotated to the left or right.
Main characteristics of the GP-46 under-barrel grenade launcher:
- Grenade launcher length — 380 mm
- Caliber — 40 mm
- Grenade launcher weight — 1.6 kg
- Sighting range (in 50 m increments) — 400 mm
- Rate of fire — 5/6 rounds/min
The head of the concern, Alan Lushnikov, added that the concern is completing the development of a modification of the new RPL-20 machine gun for the 5.56x45 mm NATO caliber and will show it at one of the upcoming exhibitions.
Earlier, TsAMTO experts called the Russian Su-57 the most combat-tested fifth-generation fighter in the world.
