The nuclear-powered strategic missile submarine of project 955A "Borei-A" "Emperor Alexander III" and the multipurpose nuclear submarine of project 885 "Yasen" "Krasnoyarsk" have joined the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Federation. They have completed an inter-fleet transfer from the Northern Fleet to the Pacific Fleet submarine forces' home base in the city of Vilyuchinsk.
The submariners were met by the Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Pavel Fradkov, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Alexander Moiseev.
After mooring and lining up the crews of the submarines, who successfully completed the task of inter-fleet transfer to the deployment location, Deputy Minister of Defense of Russia Pavel Fradkov and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Alexander Moiseev greeted the crews of the newest nuclear-powered missile cruisers and congratulated them on completing the tasks of the Arctic campaign.
"Emperor Alexander III" is the third serial nuclear-powered missile submarine of strategic importance of the fourth generation of the modernized project 955A, code "Borei-A". The power plant is nuclear. One nuclear reactor, one steam turbine unit with a main turbine reduction gear unit, one water-jet propulsion unit and one propeller shaft.
The armament of submarines of project 955A includes six 533-mm torpedo tubes, torpedo missiles, torpedoes, cruise missiles, 16 intercontinental ballistic missiles "Bulava", and man-portable air defense systems.

The Krasnoyarsk submarine is the fourth ship of project 885M "Yasen-M", a class of fourth-generation submarines with a reduced level of acoustic field. The power plant is a water-cooled reactor on thermal neutrons OK-650V, one shaft, one water jet or a low-noise propeller.
The armament of submarines of project 885M "Yasen-M" includes P-100 Onyx anti-ship cruise missiles, Kalibr missiles, Kh-35 anti-ship cruise missiles, Kh-101 strategic cruise missiles, 3M-54E and 3M-54E1 anti-ship cruise missiles, and 3M-1 cruise missiles for hitting ground targets.

- Surface speed of the submarine - 16 knots
- Submerged speed - 31 knots
- Maximum diving depth - 600 meters
- Endurance - 100 days
- Crew - 90 people
