Уничтожитель дронов: многоцелевая 80-мм РСЗО «Рапира-3» с тульским «Бронебойщиком»

The effective range of the S-8OFP missile is up to 5 km

The Russian Armed Forces may adopt a promising multipurpose multiple launch rocket system "Rapira-3" with unguided aviation missiles S-8OFP "Broneboishchik" from NPO "Splav". The complex will be able to effectively combat both drones and ground targets.

Military expert Evgeny Damantsev noted that the combat module of "Rapira-3" is placed on the chassis of AMN-590951 "Spartak MRAP" with a 10-charge transport and launch package guided in azimuth and elevation.

All-weather use of the complex is provided by a multispectral optoelectronic guidance module of the TV/IR range with a radar module of the millimeter wave range and an additional laser rangefinder channel.

As interceptor missiles, 10 80-mm unguided rockets of the S-8OFP "Broneboishchik" type from Tula's NPO "Splav" with advanced laser or remotely controlled fuses are used.

Damantsev expressed the opinion that guided modifications of the 80-mm unguided rockets with the S-8Kor index, the development program of which was carried out in the late 90s, could have a higher efficiency.

These missiles were supposed to be equipped with semi-active laser homing heads and small-sized aerodynamic rudders on detachable warheads. However, large-scale production of these ammunition did not begin.

Earlier, footage of the work of "air motherships" for drones on the front line appeared on the Web. UAV carriers of FPV drones are also equipped with repeaters for stable communication.
