В России создадут государственную систему подтверждения компетенции IT-специалистов

The government intends to create an information system to confirm the competencies of software developers

Russia plans to create a state information system to confirm the competencies of software developers (SW). This project is part of the national project "Data Economy," which will start in 2025.

The system is designed to simplify the process of confirming developers' skills and accelerate the filling of vacancies in the IT industry. The project indicates that regulators, IT companies, and the developers themselves will be able to access the system, which will help the latter confirm their skills and improve their chances of employment.

According to a preliminary version of the federal project "Personnel for Digital Transformation," 630 million rubles have been allocated for the development of the system. The project also provides for costs of 41.3 billion rubles for budgetary funding and 630 million rubles of extra-budgetary funds for various activities aimed at developing the human resources potential of the IT industry. The system is intended as a tool for obtaining up-to-date information about personnel in the industry and effectively filling vacancies. It is projected that about 20,000 specialists will be able to use the system as early as next year, and by 2030 this number will grow to 250,000.

Experts believe that the introduction of such a system will allow companies to save time and resources in the initial selection of candidates and will give IT professionals an advantage in finding a job. However, they also emphasize that the system, while useful for confirming competencies, will not solve the main problem — the shortage of qualified personnel in the IT industry.
