Yandex has launched robot delivery in Kazakhstan. Iron couriers deliver orders from restaurants and cafes in the "golden square" area — a prestigious residential area in the center of Almaty. Deliverymen from Yandex Qazaqstan move freely around the city thanks to built-in sensors, neural networks and a detailed HD map of the area.
For now, robots will deliver orders from the restaurants "Entrecote", "Tokyo Ramen", Yasuda Sushi, The green station, Double Coffee and the city cafe "Druzhba".
From 11:00 to 01:00, an order can be placed in the Yandex Go application. If the robot is available at this time, it will bring the food. To pick up the order, you need to approach the robot and use the application to press the "Open the lid" button.
In the cargo compartment of the robot courier with a capacity of 60 liters, you can place, for example, 6 large pizzas and 4 two-liter bottles of water.
In the future, Yandex Qazaqstan intends to expand the delivery geography. For catering establishments, robot couriers are an excellent opportunity to attract new customers and improve the quality of service.
