The new direction for the tech giant is handled by Yandex Robotics LLC. It was registered on September 11, according to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, and has an authorized capital of 1 million rubles. 99% of it belongs to Yandex's subsidiary Tekhnoyak LLC, and 1% to Market.Operations LLC. Ivan Kalinov has been appointed as the General Director of the new structure.
Yandex confirmed to Interfax the creation of a separate company for the new direction.
This was done to scale the robot sales business. The robotics team will continue to create robots and develop software for Market's warehouse operations, as well as offer its solutions to third-party businesses.
So far, it is known from open sources that Yandex already has developed and manufactured robot arm control systems, unmanned platforms for moving containers around the warehouse "Motus", mobile lifts for lifting containers onto shelves and moving containers around the warehouse "Dilectus", and robots for inventorying warehouses "Spectro".
The official website for Yandex robots has already been launched, but there is no catalog of robots or their official full technical specifications yet.
