Russian specialists have begun studying the warhead of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system. They will determine the operating principle of the munition.
We are carefully studying it. What the part responsible for the entire operation of the missile itself interacts with. We are extracting microchips, we have started disassembling. A tremendous amount of work is being done to study this part.
Electronics, a microchip, and nose stabilizer control systems are now available. After dismantling, an analysis of the obtained elements will be performed.
The HIMARS multiple launch rocket system was developed in the USA in 1996-2000 and has been produced since 2003. The system is built on the basis of the US Army's FMTV three-axle wheeled chassis and can carry one ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missile or six rockets. The aiming range for certain types of ammunition is up to 80 km.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that the Kalashnikov arms concern is unifying a catapult for UAVs and loitering munitions. Testing of a prototype has already begun.
