KAMAZ youth from the Scientific and Technical Center came up with the idea to translate information from the text instructions for repairing and maintaining trucks into an accessible video format.
Video clips are already available for four popular operations: for example, they show the process of disassembling and assembling the KAMAZ-6522 transfer case using a special tool and in compliance with technical requirements.
The development of documentation in a new format is possible only for cars, components and assemblies that have three-dimensional models. They are available for cars of generations K3, K4 and K5. Difficulties arise when "breaking" models into smaller parts due to the fact that some component suppliers provide only the outer shell of a three-dimensional part with overall drawings, and this is not enough, since there is no internal structure of the model.
Instructions in the new format are available on the electronic operational documentation portal (EOD). The priority is the development of new video instructions for the most popular repair work, relevant for KAMAZ users based on feedback from them.
It is assumed that the innovation will be able to reduce the number of requests for technical support from consumers by a quarter, and significantly reduce the time for preparing technological maps for repairs.
