Roscosmos is planning to create two Luna-27 automatic stations. But the final decision has not yet been made due to a lack of funds. This was announced by the head of the first stage of the lunar program, Lev Zeleny.
If it is not possible to create two devices, then send the only device not to the South Pole, which by that time will be sufficiently explored, but to the North Pole - no one is particularly going there yet.
He also noted that the standard practice in Soviet times was to create two devices. This was done for reliability and simplified the operation of the devices.
The launch of Luna-27 is scheduled for 2028-2029. It is planned to develop technologies for safe landing on the Moon and conduct research on its circumpolar region.
