The VK Video app for Android, which also works on various tablets running this OS, became available on September 4.
The app has nine sections based on the most popular audience requests: "Trending," "For Kids," "Movies," "TV Shows," "Shows," "Sports," "Esports and Games," and "Live Streams." The ninth section, "For You," compiles personalized content based on the user's viewing history, uploaded, liked, and bookmarked videos.
VK Video for Android allows you to:
- watch any content from the extensive VK Video library without authorization: from sports broadcasts and blogger content to movies, TV shows, and news;
- create personalized playlists;
- use delayed viewing, notification management, and subscription features;
- adjust video quality depending on internet connection speed.
Earlier, VK announced that it created the largest cloud library of video content in Russia. The service combined video content from the "Zen," "VK Video," and "OK.Video" platforms. Its total volume has already exceeded 1.5 billion gigabytes.
Also, for the convenience of users, VK sped up video loading on its platform by 20-30%.
