В столице открылась новая станция метро «Потапово» на Сокольнической линии

It is expected to reduce the load on the Butovskaya metro line

A new metro station, Potapovo, opened in Moscow on September 5, 2024, in the south of the Sokolnicheskaya line. The station will become the new terminal point of the line and will serve the Kommunarka and Yuzhnoye Butovo districts, improving transport accessibility for 150,000 residents and reducing the load on the Butovskaya metro line.

A special feature of Potapovo is that it is the first above-ground station of the Moscow Metro with a heating system, for which special ventilation equipment has been installed. The projected passenger flow is 20,000 people per day, increasing to 30,000 by 2030.

Construction of the station began in 2021, and its opening is another step in the expansion of the Sokolnicheskaya line, which has been extended by eight stations in recent years, starting with the extension in 2014. The total length of the line is now 45.4 km.
