The northern capital of Russia is testing the operation of a mobile application for paying for travel "Podorozhnik." This was reported by the St. Petersburg Transport Committee.
The application will make it possible to pay for trips on the metro and city transport using a smartphone. 10 thousand volunteers are needed to test the effectiveness of the system.
From September 1, the "Organizer of Transportation" is recruiting participants to test a new mobile application for paying for public transport. The number of participants is limited.
The virtual "Podorozhnik" card differs from the usual one. There is no need to visit points of sale to replenish it — this is done using a telephone. The cost of paying for travel in the application is lower than when paying in cash.
